    Using letters instead of Do Re Mi spanish system

    I balance fun music with an inclination to a classical education concentrating on reading music, theory and the application of rudiments to the interpretation of both classical and song music.




  • I teach a bespoke program which ties into the MTB english graded system.
    Some students follow a classical grade system ( 1 to 8 )
    Prior to grade 1 all students complete a yellow belt syllabus of basic exercises - this is the nuts and bolts of playing piano.
    Some students go off on a more pop song route.
    I teach the English lettered system rather than the Spanish Do Re Mi system - although I have students that do both.
    If you are intersted in classes for your child / or youself - it all starts with visiting me and having a cup of tea so we can see what it is is best suited for you.

    I try to be the teacher I never had and I am sure that most of my students will end up as better pianists than I am.

    If you are interested for your child or you to start with me then the first step is to come and have a cup of tea / fruit juice where we can talk about any previous experience, what areas particularly interest you and make a plan of study.
